General Info

	What is Texas Twisters?
	Simply put, we are a group of gay men and women who love to Country Western dance. The group began in August 2000 largely through the efforts of our first Chair, Dave Hayes. Texas Twisters is a proud member of The International Association of Gay/Lesbian Country Western Dance Clubs. Texas Twisters is also a 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization. Our beneficiaries for the 2007-2008 fiscal year are the Resource Center of Dallas and Samaritan House (Fort Worth).

	Do I have to be gay to join?
	No, although the group is largely comprised of gay folk, membership is open to anyone with an open mind and an interest in Country Western dance.

	What do you guys do?
	Why, we dance of course! <grin> We do line dances and all varieties of Country Western couples dance: Waltz, Two-step, Three-step, Shuffle, Cha-Cha, West and East Coast Swing. We hold dance clinics and workshops open to the general public; raise money for local charities. We have "social nights" where the club members show up at an area C&W club to dance, and we have the occasional party or two. Our goals are: To promote country western music and dance. To raise money for our local community charities. To Establish/maintain a dance team for performances and/or competition.

	What is your "Dance Team"?
	Texas Twisters' performance/competition dance team performs line- and couples-dance routines at events such as conventions, fundraising shows, etc. The team is made up of a subset of our members who enjoy the aspects of public performance/competition and who are willing/able to commit a high level of personal time and resources. How much are membership dues?

Membership dues vary based on when you register, as follows:

How do I become a member?

Membership is open to anyone interested in Country Western dance, and becoming a member is as simple as submitting your registration and payment for dues. There are two membership registration options:

Online Membership Registration

There is a nominal processing fee for online membership registration.
