Couples Dance Lessons
|
The Twisters are
excited to announce
the debut of a new series of couples dance lessons on
Wednesday nights!
See one of our classes being taught in
a
Dallas Voice TV (DVTV) segment!
| July Series: |
Shuffle
(a.k.a. Triple Two Step)
7/2, 7/9, 7/16,
7/23, 7/30 |
| |
Depending on where you're from or where you dance,
you'll call this dance by different names. Folks at
the Round Up and Best Friends call this dance "The
Shuffle". If you compete or if you hang out with
competitive dancers then you call this dance "Triple
Two Step".
No matter what you call it, the dance is lots of fun
and we are teaching it!
|
| |
|
| When: |
Wednesday nights from 7:45pm - 8:55p |
|
Location: |
Reverchon Recreation Center in Reverchon Park
3505 Maple Ave, Dallas, TX |

Anyone is welcome to attend! Feel free to
bring friends, family, boy-friends, girl friends,
significant others and just about anybody who wants
to learn how to dance. Spread the word to everyone
you know and everyone you don't! |
| Dance
Level: |
The
basics will always be covered at the beginning of
each class then moves and patterns will be taught
based on the skill level of the folks attending the
class.
It is highly recommended that you not miss the first
class of the month because that is when the basic
footwork will be presented. |
| Cost: |
Twister Members: $10 per lesson
Non-Twister: $15 per lesson
Membership forms will
be available at every lesson so that you may join on
the spot and get the discount. |
|
Instructor: |
Our
FAB-U-LUS award winning, national champion,
professional dance instructor (not to mention
lovely) Gretchen Lutz. Gretchen also happens to be
the new Team Twister Coach. Gretchen competes in
both ACDA and UCWDC the Pro-Pro and Division I and
has a number of competitive students with whom she
dances in the Pro-Am divisions. |

We hope that by offering
these classes we can create a community of dancers who know
a wide variety of dance styles. That way, no matter what
night you're at the Round-Up or at Best Friends, you'll
always spot someone from the classes who knows the same
dance style, and when a great song comes on, you can whisk
them onto the dance floor!

Line Dance
Lessons
|
Texas Twisters proudly offered line
dance lessons on Wednesday nights for over six years. Aptly titled
"Twister Wednesday", we were generously hosted by The Round-Up Saloon
for over five years as well as by Throckmorton Mining Company.
Sadly, in June of 2007 Twister Wednesday was discontinued.
Over the years we taught a variety of
traditional country western dances as well as many other cutting-edge
dances to other styles of music. We built a long list of favorites
along the way (see below), and we hope they will continue to be learned,
danced, and enjoyed for years to come.
